Connoisseur Hotel Altes Gymnasium

In our hotel, where pupils sat over the verses of Goethe and Schiller for around 100 years, you can now enjoy the “charm of the old school”, as our maxim goes.

The former classrooms have been converted into cosy, extremely comfortable rooms and suites, the former assembly hall is a ballroom that invites you to celebrate, and a rich breakfast buffet awaits you daily in the former orchard of the headmaster.

We serve classic menus in time with the seasons in our restaurant “EUCKEN”, named after the German Nobel Prize winner for literature Rudolf Eucken, who taught as a teacher in the Old Grammar School. Whether Mr Eucken also had such a cosy room for his students during detention as our Pauker Lounge, where our bartender serves international cocktails for hotel guests and Husum residents, may be doubted, however. The Genießer Hotel Altes Gymnasium will also inspire you with its very personal charm and lived hospitality.

Just like our sister hotel, the Genießer Hotel Historischer Krug in Oeversee, we are committed to pampering our guests from the very first minute.
